Seo-contest puts focus on Global Warming
There is a search engine optimization (seo) contest currently running where the contestants are trying to rank in Google, Yahoo and MSN Search for the key phrase "globalwarming awareness2007". The contest ends the 1. of May, and is arranged by Seo World Championship. Here we will pick entries for you that we find especially interesting or creative.
Although we doubt the impact this kind of campaign will have on people's awareness of the seriousity we all are facing, we still think it is a noble attempt from the people behind the contest, and we do believe the contestants will learn more about the subject. We wish all the contestants good luck, and may the best contestant win.
- Anthropogenic Global Warming is a Fraud
QuadsZilla writes a very interesting article where he claims that the global warming phenomen has nothing to do with human activities. Read the full article on the site of SEO Black Hat, and judge for yourself.
"Claims of significant anthropogenic global warming due to CO2 emissions are either overblown or completely unfounded. The greatest scientific fraud in the history of mankind is this “Global Warming / Climate Change” tandem. Any doomsday scenarios concocted on these theories are a scientific embarrassment that have as much credibility as Creationism, Refrigerator Gnomes, or the Late Iraqi Information Minister."
- Mahesh Mhatre's entry
Mahesh has a nice entry in the globalwarming awareness2007 seo-contest. The post we have chosen to feature here made it to Netscape News. Keep up the good work. Entries like this shows that using a seo-contest to spread awareness among people can really be a good thing.
Good luck with your entry Mahesh, and we look forward to see what more you have learned from participating in this contest.

I find it quite amusing that the the first three prizes are some of the biggest global warming culprits.
The entry from www.global-warming-awareness.co.uk has picked up on this beautifully. If they do indeed win the rankings war, I wonder whether the organisers will give the prize to someone else because of the way they've slated the hypocracy of the competition?
Check out their "about " page where they give a break down of the impact on the environment by each of the prizes
